RANGPUR MEDICAL COLLEGE

Rangpur Medical College (RpMC), established on March 18, 1970, is a prominent government medical institution located in Rangpur, Bangladesh. Affiliated with Rajshahi Medical University, the college offers a comprehensive five-year medical education program leading to a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree, followed by a compulsory one-year internship. The MBBS degree is recognized by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC).

The college campus is situated in the northwestern part of Rangpur, adjacent to the Rangpur–India–Nepal highway, and is associated with the 1,000-bed Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RpMCH), providing extensive clinical training opportunities for students.

RpMC offers both undergraduate and postgraduate medical education. The undergraduate program admits 250 students annually into the MBBS course and 50 students into the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) course. Since 2014, the college has also offered five-year postgraduate residency courses (M.D. and M.S.) under Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU).

The college is recognized by several international medical councils, including the World Health Organization (WHO) and the National Medical Commission (NMC), enabling its graduates to practice medicine globally.

RpMC publishes the "Journal of Rangpur Medical College," a peer-reviewed, open-access journal released semi-annually in March and September, featuring original research articles, review articles, case reports, and short communications.
