IBRAHIM MEDICAL COLLEGE
Ibrahim Medical College (IMC), established in 2002, is a private medical institution located in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Affiliated with the University of Dhaka, IMC is recognized by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC) and offers a comprehensive medical education leading to the Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree.

Shegunbagicha Campus: Located at 1/A, Ibrahim Sarani, Shegunbagicha, Dhaka-1000, this campus houses well-furnished, fully air-conditioned departments equipped with modern classrooms, dissection halls, laboratories, and museums. Each department is provided with computers having internet facilities, access to HINARI, scanners, and audiovisual aids to support the academic needs of students.
Shahbagh Campus: Situated at 122, Kazi Nazrul Islam Avenue, Shahbagh, Dhaka-1000, this campus is associated with the Bangladesh Institute of Research and Rehabilitation for Diabetes, Endocrine and Metabolic Disorders (BIRDEM). BIRDEM is a 600-bed multidisciplinary teaching hospital founded by National Professor Muhammad Ibrahim, providing extensive clinical training opportunities for students.
Academic Programs:
IMC offers a five-year MBBS program, followed by a compulsory one-year internship at BIRDEM Hospital. The curriculum is designed to provide a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical clinical experience, ensuring graduates are well-prepared for medical practice. The medium of instruction is English, catering to both local and international students.
Admission Process:
Admission to IMC is competitive, with candidates selected based on their academic performance and entrance examination results. Future students need to satisfy the requirements established by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) and the University of Dhaka. The college follows the admission guidelines prescribed by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Bangladesh.

IMC is associated with BIRDEM Hospital, a 600-bed multidisciplinary teaching hospital renowned for its diabetes treatment facilities. Designated as a WHO Collaborating Centre on Diabetes, Endocrine, and Metabolic Disorders, BIRDEM provides students with extensive clinical exposure and hands-on training in various medical specialties.
Research and Publications:
IMC publishes the "IMC Journal of Medical Science," previously known as the "Ibrahim Medical College Journal." This official journal is indexed in DOAJ, JournalTOCs, Google Scholar, and MEDLINE, reflecting the college's commitment to advancing medical research and knowledge dissemination.
